Started in 1984,[1] based in California.

Zvi Ryzman,president and CEO of American International Industries, from June 2007: "What makes China Glaze so different from other nail-color brands is that you won’t find it on retail shelves—it’s sold purely through full-service distributors and professional-only beauty stores."[2]


Worldwide Cosmetics was founded in 1984 by Sol Majer (second from right in photo) and William Moskovitz and was a leading manufacturer of a wide variety of beauty products, including the China Glaze nail polish line, Winning Nails, Riky Wax, Water Works, Kami Nail Art, Gypsy Lashes, Marbella cosmetics, and Hotsie Totsie novelty cosmetics.The company also purchased Strata Nail Foundation, a line of colored acrylic powders, but Strata had been discontinued before the company's sale to AII. Worldwide Cosmetics was sold to AII in 2005.[3]
